COVID 19 Live Event Policies & Practices
We are working to create a safe and healthy environment to enjoy what we all love!
At the same time following the most current guidelines of CDC, local, state and national officials. We are excited to Come Together with you to provide a safe and fun event! Below, you will find a plan of action that we feel is in the best interest of our dancers, families, and staff…at this time. If conditions allow or warrant for a change in action, we reserve the right to do so.
Face Coverings: Everyone is encouraged to wear a face covering during the event when deemed necessary or required. Dependent upon the city/venue, face coverings may be required. Exceptions: *Dancers while performing on stage are not required to wear a face covering. *State Dance Champions staff/judges while at the judges table are not required to wear a face covering.
Temperature Checks: Temperature checks may be required upon arrival and anyone with a temperature of 100.1 degrees or greater will not be admitted. SDC personnel will also undergo the same temperature checks prior to and each day of the event.
Armbands and Guest Attendance: Armbands may be issued for admittance. Each dancer may be limited to the number of guests permitted. Studio Directors will be notified prior to the event the maximum number of guests to be permitted per dancer. Social Distancing Practice social distancing and keep at least 6 feet between your travel party and others. Auditorium seating will be denoted as available seating or not. Seating may also be blocked by studio session. If so, you will be directed accordingly. When necessary and/or possible, all entrances and exits will be separate and one-way only. All entrances and exits will be clearly labeled, respectively.
Sanitization Protocol: Wash your hands with soap and water often for at least 20 seconds. SDC will have several hand sanitizing stations available for public use. SDC will be cleaning and disinfecting the following areas in between uses: *Performance and Back Stage, including floor *Dressing Space *Merchandise Kiosk *Photo/Video Kiosk *Auditorium Seating Venues have increased their sanitization for all surfaces, handrails, elevators, door handles, etc and will also be cleaning and sanitizing regularly throughout or during the event. We ask that each studio do their part and clean up their personal trash in the dressing space, auditorium and lobby areas.
Schedules *Dependent upon CDC, local, state and/or federal mandates our schedule may take one of three forms: 1 – Studios combined together to run as normal (pre-COVID19) 2 – Blocked schedules with few studios combined together and Overall Awards presented at the very end of the event with either little or no attendance. Separate dressing facilities for studios. 3 – Blocked schedules by studio with Overall Awards presented at the very end of the event with either little or no attendance. Separate dressing facilities *Under 2 & 3 for Blocked Sessions, Dancers and Teachers should arrive no more than 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time block. Dancers should arrive at the venue warmed up, in costume and if possible, full hair and makeup for their first scheduled routine.
Backstage Attendance & Props: Studios will be asked to limit attendance backstage to (1) representative per studio for every 10 students. Parents are not allowed backstage. If prop assistance is needed, each studio may be allowed up to (3) prop assistants for a total of (4) representatives per studio for only the routine requiring prop assistance. Prop assistants must not linger in the wings but must abide by social distancing and face covering guidelines. The Backstage will be marked with which side to enter and exit from. Dancers must abide by this direction path.
General Guidelines *Stay home if you are sick *Cover your coughs and sneezes. If a tissue is used, please put it in a trash can *Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds *If soap and water are not available, make use of hand sanitizer *Avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth with unwashed hands *Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects *If you are among the Elderly or one with a compromised immune system, we are asking that you do NOT attend our event at this time.
The safety of our attendees is our number one priority.
